Klinisches Szenario: Der 38-jährige Patient Herr H. meldet sich in Ihrer Praxis. Herr H. habe Ihre Adresse auf der Internetseite „rate your therapist“ (z. B. http://psych-review.blogspot.com) gefunden, von welcher Sie als Ärztin oder Psychotherapeutin zwar noch nie was gehört haben, auf welcher Sie aber von Ihren ehemaligen Patienten offensichtlich im Schnitt mit 9, 14 von to möglichen Punkten bewertet wurden. Mit einem dieser Patienten diskutiere Herr H. jetzt auch in einem virtuellen Forum. Ausgerüstet mit Informationen Ihres ehemaligen Patienten und anderen unzähligen Informationen aus dem Internet, schildert Herr H. im Erstgespräch nicht nur Symptome und vertraut Ihren professionellen Schlussfolgerungen und Entscheidungen. Herr H. benennt gleich mögliche Diagnosen, wägt unterschiedliche Interventionsoptionen gegeneinander ab, zitiert Studienergebnisse und Erfahrungen anderer Betroffener und macht deutlich, dass er bei der therapeutischen Entscheidungsfindung aktiv mitreden will.
