Tumor angiogenesis: Functional similarities with tumor invasion

  • Chapter
Regulation of Angiogenesis

Part of the book series: Experientia Supplementum ((EXS,volume 79))

Summary

In this review the functional relationship between tumor cell invasion and tumor-induced angiogenesis is discussed. Emphasis is placed on the similarities of the invasive phenotype in both processes and the common themes of αvß3 expression and gelatinase A activity.
