Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented event that has affected the entire world and the Latin American region in particular. The airlines of Latin America have had to face severe government restrictions, which have severely disrupted their operations. This chapter analysed the exact process of de-internationalization adopted by the Mexican airline Aeroméxico in dealing with the pandemic using a qualitative approach. The main results indicate that the airline has taken actions in nine specific areas and that the consequences of these actions were negative, because they reduced the company’s operating capacity, thereby affecting its income. While the consequences were negative in the short and medium term, in the long term the nine actions taken by Aeroméxico are expected to be positive, because the company is seeking to survive the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
