Abstract
This paper will outline the important aspects of renewable energy in India. Starting with history and commitment by the government since 1976 until now by establishing ministry for renewable energy.
The paper will covers introduction, India’s commitment for renewable energy use, large provider of jobs, transition of renewable energy helps in reducing SO2 emissions, coal-fired power plants being replaced with renewables, government interventions, challenges of solar cell manufacturing industry, finance an important element, and conclusion.
