Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to describe behavioral treatment approaches for depression and suicide in hospitalized youngsters. We have limited the scope of the chapter to a discussion of major depression, dysthymic disorder, and related suicidality. As such, we have not included information pertaining to bipolar affective disorder and suicidality related to nondepressive disorders, such as substance abuse and conduct disorder.
