Part of the book series: Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology ((AEMB,volume 359))

Abstract

Taurine can prevent excitotoxic neuronal cell death in early postnatal mouse cerebellar cultures but appears to enhance excitotoxicity in cat cerebellar cultures. This study provides data that could explain these species-specific differences.
