Abstract
This chapter is based on our working hypothesis interpreting the evoked potential (EP) as a stimulus-induced synchronization and enhancement of the spontaneous EEG activity (Başar 1980). According to this hypothesis, the superposition of evoked rhythmicities in several frequency channels can give rise to the compound EP (an example is given in the appendix to this chapter).
