Abstract
A quadrupole mass spectrometer analyser system was constructed in ATOMKI and is used in monitoring fermentation processes in BIOGAL. The results of construction and user’s experiences are reviewed. The QMS coupled with a complex sampling system is capable for multi-component and multi-channel on-line, quasi-simultaneous analysis of several gases and volatile components in gas and liquid phases. Methods are elaborated for the off-line measurement of some non-volatile components. Problems and features of membrane inlets and multiprobe sampling are dealt with and examples of fermentation measurements are given.
