Abstract
A circadian periodicity of plasma corticosteroid levels has been well established in many species, including the human (Migeon, Tyler, Mahoney, Florentin, Castle, Bliss and Samuels, 1956; Hal berg, 1969; Dusseau and Meier, 1971; Singley and Chavin, 1971). The present report will attempt to define the characteristics of such periodicity and describe experimental approaches, both in animals and humans, which have been designed to delineate the factors underlying this periodicity.
