Abstract
As reviewed in the preceding chapter by Howard Burchell, our knowledge of preexcitation syndromes began retrospectively with the anatomic descriptions of Kent [1]. However, many years passed before a clinical application [2] and even longer before a functional-morphologic correlation [3–5] was made for these structures. Subsequently, morphologic descriptions of other potential substrates (i.e. nodoventricular connections, atriofascicular tracts, etc.) for ventricular preexcitation have also been made (Figure 2-1) [6–10].
