Abstract
The vast majority of cases of infectious mononucleosis resolve without significant complications or sequelae. Nonetheless, infectious mononucleosis is an illness with potential for morbid and even fatal complications. An awareness of the possibility for complications and a familiarity with their salient clinical features should improve care of such patients.
