Abstract
It has been demonstrated that radioiodinated HCG and LH are accumulated in vivo by mouse and rat ovaries (1–4). These observations suggested the existence of specific receptor sites for gonadotropic hormone in this target tissue. Recently, the existence of specific receptors for LH and HCG have been reported in slices of luteinized rat ovaries (5) and homogenized preparations of rat testes (6,7) as well as mouse tumor Leydig cells (8). Such a system may offer considerable potential for the study of LH-receptor interaction and for a new approach to the assay of LH.
