Mapping of Human Chromosomes

  • Chapter
Human Chromosomes

Abstract

Mapping genes on the chromosomes is one of the fastest growing disciplines in human genetics. Reports on new assignments of genes to particular chromosomes and books and reviews dealing with various aspects of chromosome mapping are appearing regularly (cf. Ruddle and Creagan, 1975; Creagan and Ruddle, 1977; McKusick and Ruddle, 1977; Shows, 1978). In addition, the developments in this field have been reviewed almost every year at international meetings: New Haven in 1973; Rotterdam, 1974; Baltimore, 1975; Winnipeg, 1977; and Edinburgh, 1979.
