Abstract
Patients with calcium oxalate urolithiasis excrete in their urine a larger amount of uric acid than normal subjects. For example, the proportion of 24-hr urine collections from patients with calcium stones that contain more than 800 mg of uric acid is much higher than that seen in normal people; and the entire distribution of values among patients is shifted upwards (Table 1).
