Residue Reviews

Part of the book series: Residue Reviews/Rückstands-Berichte ((RECT,volume 47))

Abstract

The vinyl phosphate insecticides have the general structure (1) in which R1 and R2 are alkyl groups; R3, R4, and R5 can be one of a wide variety of groups including hydrogen, methyl, earboxymethyl, alkylamido, polychloroaryl, etc., and X is S or O. The variation in the groups provides the range of inseeticidal, chemical, and physical properties that exists with the class. All currently commercially available members have both R1 and R2 either methyl or ethyl groups and all except one have an oxygen atom as X.

BIRLANE, SUPONA, GARDONA, PHOSDRIN, CIODRIN, BIDRIN, and AZODRIN are Shell Registered Trade Marks; DIMECRON, CARBICRON, and NUVACRON are Ciba-Geigy Registered Trade Marks.
