Abstract

The prevalence of malnutrition, often associated with parasitic, bacterial and viral infection, is high in Brazil.1–3 Since the mucosa is an important access of pathogens, one supposes that different levels of antigenic exposure can influence secretory IgA (slgA) production and secretion.
