Introduction
Just as “there is no one critical psychology” (Hook, 2004b, p. 11), there is no one way to teach psychology critically. Just as “Critical psychology is more an approach, a kind of orientation towards psychological knowledge and practice” (Hook, p. 11), the critical teaching of psychology is also an orientation to the way in which teachers and students talk about the knowledge and practice of psychology. While few critical psychologists have turned their attention explicitly to the question of how to teach psychology critically, many sources are available from which to develop critical approaches to psychology instruction. Among these are the several books suited for a course in critical psychology – Hook (2004a), Teo (2005), and Fox, Prilleltensky, and Austin (2009) being good examples.
