Abstract
The purpose of this chapter is multifaceted. First, the need for financial education programs is briefly reviewed. Second, data from a national survey of existing on-campus financial education programs is presented to provide baseline comparison measures for existing programs and programs that hope to be started in the future. Third, a review of implementation and management structures is provided. Finally, a brief discussion of best practices is presented. Taken together, the information discussed in this chapter can serve as a jumping-off point in the ongoing discussion of what educational centers and programs are currently in place on college and university campuses and how different programs are attempting to improve the financial capabilities of students.
