A Stochastical Imaging Procedure

  • Chapter
Acoustical Imaging

Part of the book series: Acoustical Imaging ((ACIM,volume 12))

Abstract

Following Labeyrie’s (1970,1976) lead, we have for several years been devising means, both optical (Gough and Bates, 1974; Bates and Gough, 1975; Bates and Milner, 1979; Cady and Bates, 1980; Bates and Fright, 1982) and ultrasonic (Bates and Robinson, 1981), for restoring images of objects viewed through distorting media. Our concern here is with a new extension to the shift-and-add technique (Bates and Cady, 1980).
