The Prostaglandins

Abstract

Prostaglandins and immunology, two rapidly expanding lines of investigation, were eventually bound to intersect. Multiple points of intersection have appeared quite recently, within the past 3 years: evidence from in vitro studies suggests that prostaglandins can regulate virtually every class of immunological responsiveness, including immediate hypersensitivity (mediated by IgE antibody), cell-mediated immunity, production or release of humoral antibody, and proliferation oflymphoid cells.
