Abstract

At the first course on tumours of the genito-urinary apparatus held in Erice in July of 1977, I presented preliminary results of the Veteran’s Administration randomised trial comparing placebo, pyridoxine and topical thiotepa in preventing recurrence of Stage I bladder tumours. Since that time, that trial has been completed and reported in the literature (1). My purpose today is to review these results with you particularly since they have stimulated a new trial to be performed by members of the EORTC Urological Group, scheduled to begin early in 1979.
