Instabilites and Chaos in Rotating Fluid

  • Chapter
Nonlinear Evolution and Chaotic Phenomena

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSB,volume 176))

Abstract

The following text summarizes the two lectures I presented at the Noto NATO Summer School. Both lectures were concerned with turbulence in rotating fluids, but from different points of view, and involving different experiments. The summaries are well enough referenced, I hope, that the interested reader may be able to use them to delve in greater depth into the subjects treated so briefly here.
