Mapping Scientific Frontiers

Abstract

Visual analytics is a young and vibrant field that aims to advance the science and technology for visual analytic reasoning and decision support. This chapter highlights a series of systems designed to support analytic reasoning in a broad range of domains. The ten challenges identified in 2002 are revisited. A vision of how mapping scientific frontiers research may lead in the future is envisaged.
