Abstract

The general principles of surgical management of Crohn’s disease are determined by our concept of the present limitations of therapy. Our important management limitations are:

  1. 1.

    It is an incurable disease

  2. 2.

It has panintestinal potential for involvement

  3. 3.

Surgical intervention only overcomes the effects of complications of the disease and does not affect the disease itself.
