Abstract
Imaging the chest in critically ill patients is often limited by their clinical state and the environment of the intensive care ward. Simple and repeatable techniques such as plain chest radiography and ultrasonography do not require the patient mobilization that is necessary in computed tomography (CT) scanning, cardiopulmonary angiography and ventilation perfusion scanning.
