Abstract

It has been shown in large surveys (Henkel and Willert 1969; Rogala et al. 1974) that congenital absence of a limb or segment of a limb is usually non-genetic, and a detailed review of these anomalies is therefore outside the scope of this book. A concise summary of the present knowledge of these disorders has been given by Lenz (1980).
