Definition

Labor and occupational safety law comprises the legal rules that govern three aspects. Labor law regulates the legal relationship between employers and employees (including worker unions) with respect to the employment and the corresponding rights and duties resulting therefrom. Occupational safety laws encompass the body of law that provides for both the safety and health of employees at the workplace as well as the compensation of employees for work-related injuries and diseases.
