Characteristics of β-endorphin-induced behavioral activation and immobilization

Endorphins in Mental Health Research

Abstract

β-endorphin produces a broad spectrum of dose-and time-related behavioral effects, ranging from hyperactivity to rigid immobility (Bloom et al., 1976; Segal et al., 1977). Our efforts to characterize further these effects and to compare them with the behavioral actions of opiates are described below.
