Preparation, Physicochemical Characterization, and Pharmacodynamic Study of Betamethasone Dipropionate Nanosuspension

Abstract

Nanosuspension of betamethasone dipropionate (BD), an insoluble glucocorticoid drug, was prepared using the medium grinding method, and the process parameters were screened through single factor experiment. Physicochemical characteristics of the prepared BD nanosuspension were studied by scanning electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry and powder X-ray scattering techniques. Pharmacodynamic evaluation was conducted on a psoriasis mouse model, and BD nanosuspension showed significant and excellent effects (significantly superior to MTX positive control drugs and physical mixtures in terms of PASI score and histopathological improvement of mouse skin lesions).
