Purification of the heat-carrying agent of geothermal electric power plants by the membrane method

Abstract

A technological scheme of purification of the liquid phase of the heat-carrying agent of a geothermal power plant (GeoPP) from colloidal silica is presented. It is developed taking into account the physical and chemical characteristics of the water heat-carrying agent and the kinetics of forming and the sizes of the colloidal silica particles. It includes some devices for baromembrane filtering. Experimental determining of permeability and selectiveness of the membrane filters under various temperatures is carried out. The obtained results open certain prospects for increasing the effectiveness of the heat-carrying agent usage.
