Die Behandlung mit niederenergetischer Laserstrahlung („low-level laser therapy“, LLLT) wurde bislang von der Schulmedizin kritisch beäugt, zum Teil belächelt und als „Laserpointermedizin“ abqualifiziert. Bei einigen Indikationen sprechen jedoch die Daten, die in den letzten Jahren gewonnen wurden, eindeutig für diese umstrittene Behandlungsform.
