Distributed Finite-time Dynamic Event-triggered Consensus Control for Nonlinear Multi-agent Systems

Abstract

This paper is concerned with a second-order sliding mode finite-time consensus control problem for nonlinear multi-agent systems with dynamic event-triggered communication. A novel dynamic event-triggered control strategy with two sub-dynamic triggering conditions is proposed to address the limited communication, which are established based on internal variables and local information. Different from the traditional static event-triggered strategy, the proposed dynamic event-triggered strategy can further reduce the update frequency of the actuator. Different from the dynamic triggering conditions that can only be applied to asymptotically convergent systems, the dynamic triggering condition designed in this paper can apply to finite-time convergent systems. The stability of the closed-loop system can be guaranteed by the Lyapunov theorem. Simulation results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the developed dynamic event-triggered consensus control law.

Panfei Huang received his master’s degree in software engineering from Peking University in 2015. His current research interests include nonlinear control, cyberspace security, and complex networks.

Fuqiang Di is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree with the School of Automation, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, China. His current research interests include spacecraft control, event triggered control, nonlinear system, UAV control, and system identification.

Jiwei Xu is an associate professor, now works at Xi’an University of Posts and Telecommunications. He received his master’s and Ph.D. degrees from the Northwestern Polytechnical University School of Automation, in 2014 and 2020, respectively. He is mainly engaged in research on complex networks, game theory, artificial intelligence, and behavior recognition.

Jinxiong Zhao is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree with the School of Cybersecurity, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, China. His current research interests include game theory, nonlinear control, electric power artificial intelligence, and information network security.
