Abstract
This research measures organizational capacity and organizational ambition in nonprofit and voluntary sports clubs. The organizational capacity dimensions of Hall et al.’s (The capacity to serve: A qualitative study of the challenges facing Canada’s nonprofit and voluntary organizations, 2003) multidimensional framework are completed with corresponding dimensions reflecting organizational ambition, and the human resources dimension is further detailed. Each dimension is adapted to be applicable in a sports clubs setting, resulting in the following organizational ambition and capacity dimensions: human resources (board, coaches, volunteers, youth coaches), accommodation, management, financing, and external orientation. Data obtained from a sample of 585 Flemish sports clubs were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis, revealing five types of sports clubs that are labeled ‘ambition,’ ‘coaches,’ ‘volunteers,’ ‘management,’ and ‘accommodation deficiency.’ The findings support the use of a multidimensional framework based on the dimensions organizational capacity and organizational ambition, and the usefulness of distinguishing among four types of volunteers.

Les présentes recherches mesurent la capacité et l’ambition organisationnelles dans les clubs de sport à but non lucratif et bénévoles. Les dimensions de la capacité organisationnelle du cadre multidimensionnel de Hall et al. (2003) sont complétées par des dimensions correspondantes qui reflètent l’ambition des organisations, et la dimension des ressources humaines est décrite plus en détail. Chaque dimension est adaptée pour être applicable dans le cadre d’un club sportif, entraînant les dimensions d’ambition et de capacité organisationnelles suivantes: ressources humaines (conseil d’administration, entraîneurs, bénévoles, entraîneurs des jeunes), hébergement, gestion, financement et orientation externe. Les données obtenues à partir d’un échantillon de 585 clubs sportifs flamands ont été analysées à l’aide d’une analyse factorielle exploratoire, révélant cinq types de clubs sportifs intitulés «ambition» , «entraîneurs» , «bénévoles» , «gestion» et «hébergement insuffisant». Les résultats soutiennent l’utilisation d’un cadre multidimensionnel basé sur la capacité organisationnelle des dimensions et l’ambition de l’organisation, ainsi que l’utilité de distinguer quatre types de bénévoles.
Zusammenfassung
Im Zuge dieser Forschungsarbeit werden die organisatorische Kapazität und die organisatorische Ambition in gemeinnützigen und ehrenamtlichen Sportvereinen gemessen. Die organisatorischen Kapazitätsdimensionen des multidimensionalen Rahmens gemäß Hall et al. (2003) werden durch entsprechende Dimensionen ergänzt, die die organisatorische Ambition reflektieren, und es wird im Einzelnen auf die Dimension der menschlichen Ressourcen eingegangen. Jede Dimension wird entsprechend angepasst, um auf Sportvereine Anwendung zu finden, was zu folgenden organisatorischen Ambitions- und Kapazitätsdimensionen führt: menschliche Ressourcen (Vorstand, Trainer, ehrenamtliche Mitarbeiter, Jugendtrainer), Räumlichkeiten, Management, Finanzierung und externe Orientierung. Mittels der exploratorischen Faktorenanalyse wurden die Daten aus einer Stichprobe von 585 flämischen Sportvereinen analysiert, wobei fünf Arten von Sportvereinen herausgestellt wurden, die wie folgt bezeichnet werden: „Ambition“, „Trainer“, „ehrenamtliche Mitarbeiter“, „Management“und „Mangel an Räumlichkeiten“. Die Ergebnisse unterstützen die Verwendung eines multidimensionalen Rahmens beruhend auf den Dimensionen organisatorische Kapazität und organisatorische Ambition und bekräftigen die Nützlichkeit, zwischen vier Arten von ehrenamtlichen Mitarbeitern zu unterscheiden.

La presente investigación mide la capacidad y la ambición organizativas en los clubes deportivos voluntarios y sin ánimo de lucro. Las dimensiones de la capacidad organizativa del marco multidimensional de Hall et al. (2003) se completan con las dimensiones correspondientes que reflejan la ambición organizativa, y se detalla adicionalmente la dimensión de recursos humanos. Cada dimensión se adapta para que sea aplicable en un escenario de club deportivo, dando lugar a las siguientes dimensiones de capacidad y ambición organizativas: recursos humanos (consejo, entrenadores, voluntarios, entrenadores juveniles), alojamiento, gestión, financiación y orientación externa. Se analizaron los datos obtenidos de una muestra de 585 clubes deportivos de Flandes utilizando análisis exploratorio de factores, revelando cinco tipos de clubes deportivos que se etiquetan como “ambición”, “entrenadores”, “voluntarios”, “gestión” y “deficiencia de alojamiento”. Los hallazgos apoyan el uso de un marco multidimensional basado en la capacidad y ambición organizativas de las dimensiones, y la utilidad de distinguir entre cuatro tipos de voluntarios.
本文对非盈利和自发性体育社团的组织容量和组织理想进行了衡量。Hall等人(2003)的多维框架中的组织容量包括了组织理想所对应的维度,并进一步细化了人力资源的对应维度。 这些方面均可适用于了体育社团的设置,于是便引出了随后的组织理想和容量维度:人力资源(董事会、教练、志愿者、青训教练)、膳食住宿、管理、财务和外部导向。我们运用探索性因子分析对弗兰德585个体育社团的数据进行了分析,发现可将体育俱乐部分为“理想型”、“教练型”、“志愿者型”、“管理型”和“膳宿缺乏型”。其结果支持了在组织容量和组织理想的基础上多维度框架的使用,并肯定了对四种志愿者进行区别的益处。
يقيس هذا البحث القدرة التنظيمية والطموح التنظيمي في الأندية الرياضية الغير ربحية والتطوعية. أبعاد القدرة التنظيمية ل(Hall et al.’s) في (2003) يتم إكمال إطار متعدد الأبعاد مع أبعاد مقابلة يعكس الطموح التنظيمي، وبعد الموارد البشرية بمزيد من التفاصيل. ويتم تكييف كل بعد ليكون قابل للتطبيق في إعداد الأندية الرياضية، مما أدى إلى الطموح التنظيمي و أبعاد القدرة التالي: الموارد البشرية (المجلس ٬المدربين ٬المتطوعين ٬المدربين الشباب)، السكن، الإدارة، التمويل، والتوجيه الخارجي. تم تحليل البيانات التي تم الحصول عليها من عينة من 585 من النوادي الرياضية الفلمنكية بإستخدام تحليل عامل إستكشافي، كشف عن خمسة أنواع من النوادي الرياضية التي تحمل ‘اسم الطموح’،’ المدربين ‘،’ المتطوعين ‘،’ إدارة ‘، و ‘نقص السكن’. النتائج تدعم إستخدام إطار متعدد الأبعاد يقوم على أبعاد القدرة التنظيمية والطموح التنظيمي، ومدى فائدة التمييز بين أربعة أنواع من المتطوعين.
