Abdominal polyorchidism: A case report and review of the literature

Abstract

Abdominal polyorchidism is rare. We report acase and review the literature. We suggest avery watchful abdominal evaluation of patientsfor a second ipsilateral testis who areoperated for undescent testis.Polyorchidism is a very rare anomaly whichrequires definitive histological diagnosis.Although imaging techniques may be helpful inthe diagnosis, it’s mostly incidentally foundin surgical exploration [1]. Patients maypresent with pain or scrotal swelling. Mostcommonly abnormalities are maldescent (40%),hernia (30%), torsion (15%), hydrocele (9%)and malignancy (6%) [2].
