Estimation of the Weibull-Gnedenko Distribution Parameters for the Strength of Single Filaments of Twaron and Taparan Para-Aramid Fibers Using the Bootstrap Method

The article discusses the application of the bootstrap statistical modeling method for processing the results of strength measurements performed on the Twaron and Taparan aramid fibers. The study was aimed at obtaining the distribution of the location parameter characterizing the onset of the filament destruction. For statistically identical distributions of mean strengths, the location parameters are shown to be statistically different. The obtained results can be used both by technologists to improve fiber technology and by designers of composite materials for ranking during the selection of a fiber for specific operating conditions.
