Fatty Acid Composition and Biological Activities of Oily Fractions from Pistacia integerrima Roots

The chemical composition of oily fractions from the roots of Pistacia integerrima was studied using GC/MS. The GC/MS study identified the presence of linoleic acid, palmitic acid, and oleic acid as the major fatty acids. The results of biological assays showed significant antibacterial, antiradical, cytotoxic, and urease inhibitory activities, which was supported by their antioxidant effect. Our study authenticated the traditional uses of P. integerrima in the treatment of infectious diseases, which was complemented by urease inhibitory and antioxidant activities.
