Traumatic interventricular septal defect

Abstract

A case of traumatic rupture of the interventricular septum of the heart caused by blunt chest trauma is reported because of rarity. Attention is drawn to the necessity for high index suspicion of cardiac involvement in all cases of blunt chest trauma.
