Abstract
Posterior midline pharyngo-esophageal diverticula were discovered on radiologic examination in one newborn and one infant girl. They differed in size and shape from congenital posterior pharyngeal diverticula previously on record and might represent different stages in the development of the abnormality. Similarities and differences between such congenital diverticula and the Zenker diverticula of the elderly and the aged are considered.
