Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The influence of pH, temperature, and concentration of alcohol and indifferent electrolyte in solution upon the polarographic reduction of N-benzoyllactams was investigated.

  2. 2.

    N-Benzoyllactams are irreversibly reduced, with the addition of two electrons.

  3. 3.

    At the potentials of the desorption peak, the wave on the differential capacitance curve acquires a kinetic character, and its limiting current passes through a maximum.

  4. 4.

    The cyclol form of N-salicyloyllactams is polarographically inactive under our conditions.
