Abstract

Lung cancer has a complex pathophysiology and is one of the leading causes of death all over the world. Cutting edge imaging modalities and omics approaches have improved the diagnosis, stratification, and staging of the disease. Different pathological drivers and probable biomarker candidates of lung cancer identified using different advanced omics tools have been documented. Several databases and bioinformatics tools designed to improve our understanding of the disease and enable downstream analyses have been mentioned in this chapter. The potential use of computational modelling and multi-omics data analyses in lung cancer have been discussed. The present therapeutic regime for lung cancer including surgical resection, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy have also been highlighted in this chapter. Finally, the different research avenues that can be explored in the field of lung cancer have been discussed.
