Abstract
COVID-19 is a highly infectious zoonosis caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus and is a grave threat to global health. Several countries are now experiencing a flattening of the epidemiological curve, as assessed by reduced infections, hospitalizations, and virus-related mortalities. Therefore, there is a need to develop strategies and improvise them based on emerging evidence and be ready to implement them when newer infection waves appear.
