Abstract
Good results from IVES have been reported since 1959 including the restoration of bladder sensation with filling and improvement of detrusor contractions during voiding, induction of conscious urinary control, as well as a significant increase in bladder capacity without side effects. Disappointing results were mainly due to wrong indications. So the selection of suitable patients is a prerequisite for success.
