Abstract

In order to explore the process parameters of laser cladding Fe55 alloy on 40Cr steel, a three-factor, three-level orthogonal experiments were conducted. The influence law of laser power, scanning speed and powder feed rate on the dilution rate and microhardness of the cladding layer are explored. The order of the influence of factors on the dilution rate from greatest to least was determined to be as follows: powder feed rate > scanning speed > laser power. The order of the influence of factors on hardness is scanning speed > powder feed rate > laser power. The optimal parameters to obtain the largest hardness were with a powder feed rate of 0.8 rpm, a laser power of 1300 W, and a scanning speed of 900 mm/min.
