Impact Damages of Braided Composites

Abstract

This chapter discusses the effects of braiding parameters and loading rates on the damages in 3-D braided composite beams under multiple transverse impacts. The influence of braiding structure and loading rate on the internal damage distribution will be analyzed from μ-CT observations and FEA. The energy absorption and damage mechanism of 3-D braided composites under multiple transverse impacts will also be revealed.
