Circularly Polarized E-Shaped Patch Antenna for AWS, FMS and MSS Applications

Abstract

In this paper, printed E-shaped monopole patch antenna is proposed, which attains high gain and direction. It is useful for wireless applications like Advanced Wireless Service (AWS), Fixed Microwave Service (FMS), Mobile Satellite Service (MSS) and space applications. The proposed antenna dimension is 80 × 140 mm. It has a resonating frequency at 2.2 GHz. The peak gain is at 8.52 dB and directivity is 8.68 dBi. Substrate used in this design is RT duroid 5880 with dielectric constant of 2.2. Various parameters result like S11, gain, directivity, surface current and radiation pattern are measured.
