Abstract

The townscape reflect the social background and values of people of each period. Although many buildings and towns were destroyed, people have to know those values. On the other hand, a huge number of photos had been shot since cameras became popular. This chapter deals with the values of those film photos as records of townscapes. In this research, two applications were developed to recognize the change of townscapes by using old photos and carried out demonstration experiments. Results of experiments are shown. In addition, the change of values of photos by implementation as contents of applications and the possibility of photo archives are considered.
