Depressive Störungen bei Kindern und Jugendlichen

Zusammenfassung

Depressive Störungen sind ein bedeutsames Phänomen im Kindes- und Jugendalter mit deutlichen psychosozialen Folgen und hohen volkswirtschaftlichen Kosten. Sie treten bei ca. 5–6 % der Kinder und Jugendlichen auf und können bis ins Erwachsenenalter fortbestehen. Insbesondere frühe Erkrankungsformen gehen dabei mit einem hohen Chronifizierungsrisiko einher. Kernsymptome der Depression sind Stimmungsbeeinträchtigungen und Aktivitätsverlust sowie dysfunktionale kognitive Funktionen. Die Entwicklung der Störung ist komplex, wobei in den letzten Jahren neben den bekannten psychosozialen und genetischen Risikofaktoren verschiedene neurobiologische Prozesse identifiziert wurden, die an der Entstehung depressiver Symptome beteiligt sein könnten. Neben psychotherapeutischen Behandlungsansätzen und der pharmakologischen Behandlung sind in den letzten Jahren weitere komplementäre Behandlungsbausteine wie chronotherapeutische Verfahren, Sport und Ernährung auch für die Anwendung im Kindes- und Jugendalter überprüft worden. Zudem wurden internetbasierte Anwendungen entwickelt, die einen besseren Zugang zu therapeutischen Angeboten für die Betroffenen schaffen sollen.
