Abstract
As with the writing of any new textbook, the question arises as to whether there is not already enough literature on the subject of development policy, i.e. whether the presentation of a new publication can really offer so much that is new. The author answers this question in the affirmative, of course, otherwise he would not have had to take the trouble of compiling it. There are, however, a number of factual reasons which make the writing of a new text seem sensible.
