Abstract
Shanglu, Radix Phytolaccae, is the dry root of Phytolacca acinosa Roxb. or P. americana L. (Phytolaccaceae) collected in the spring and fall. This officially in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia listed herbal medicine is toxic and to be used for treatment of edema or treatment of abscess by external administration.
