Zusammenfassung

Blutkomponenten unterscheiden sich grundlegend von klassischen Arzneimitteln, denn jede Blutkomponente ist eine individuelle Präparation aus Spenderblut mit spezifischen biologischen Merkmalen. Zelluläre und plasmatische Antigene und Antikörper können beim Transfusionsempfänger Nebenwirkungen auslösen, ohne dass das Präparat aus pharmazeutischer Sicht einen Qualitätsmangel aufweist. Die Einschätzung und Bewertung des Risikos unerwünschter Wirkungen und die Entwicklung von Maßnahmen zur Risikoreduktion hängen entscheidend von der systematischen Überwachung (Hämovigilanz) mit Hilfe eines Meldesystems ab. Zentraler Bestandteil der Hämovigilanz ist die Beobachtung und Meldung von Reaktionen, damit aus diesen Daten Maßnahmen zur weiteren Erhöhung der Sicherheit bei der Hämotherapie entwickelt werden können.
